Introduction

In the Old Testament we are reminded often of the role of a "watchman."  In Ezekiel chapter 33, God gives Ezekiel some very specific warnings regarding what to do and how to do it in order to protect God's people.  In the midst of that plea from God is very precise language of what happens to the one who has a responsibility to issue a warning and fails to do so.   [more]

You may want to reconsider your vulnerability to this contemporary form of bank robbery. Unfortunately, in this form of theft, it is not the bank’s money, it is yours. One year ago today US Airways Flight 1549 (popularly referred to as the Miracle on the Hudson) was a scheduled commercial passenger flight from New York City to Charlotte, North Carolina.  That flight was successfully ditched in the Hudson River adjacent to Manhattan six minutes after departing from LaGuardia Airport. The captain was Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, 57, a former fighter pilot who had been an airline pilot since leaving the Air Force in 1980. He is also a safety expert and a glider pilot. [more]
