Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designation
The Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is a widely recognized qualification that provides risk managers a foundation of knowledge and skills needed to identify, assess, monitor and limit risks. The CRM is recognized by the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and awarded by the Global Risk Management Institute (GRMI).
Attaining the CRM designation demonstrates a level of professional commitment, knowledge and skills that employers in both public and private sectors recognize.

Steps For Attaining The CRM Designation
Step 1: Create an online profile here.
Step 2: Enroll in each course at a university or institution that offers the required CRM courses listed below.
Step 3: Access CRM registration page, select an exam and pay the $130 (USD) testing and processing fee by credit card.
Step 4: GRMI will issue Prometric Testing Center location options and access instructions via email.
Step 5: Candidate enters the access code sent via email from GRMI into the Prometric site, selects an exam date, time and location.

Continued Standing
In order to maintain your CRM designation, membership in GRMI must remain current. To renew and continue your membership, you must submit your annual dues payment of $50 (USD).
Although the CRM does not require continuing education credits, all GRMI members will receive an annual $100 rebate when they attend a RIMS in-person workshop to further their professional development. Visit www.RIMS.org/Education for more information.
CRM-E Designation
If you hold the CRM designation and complete the RIMS Enterprise Risk Management workshop, you are eligible to take the CRM-E Online Examination in order to obtain your CRM-E designation.
The exam is based on the textbook, Enterprise Risk Management, published by the Institutes. Details and access information on the CRM-E Online Examination will be sent to you upon completion of the three-day workshop.
The Global Risk Management Institute, Inc. (GRMI) is an institute that issues the CRM and is an alumni association of individuals who hold the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and RIMS Fellow (RF) designations.
